Appointments
Your veterinarian will fax or call us with
the pertinent information about your pet's condition.
You may then call us Monday - Friday between
8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to schedule a consultation appointment.
Routine appointments are seen Monday through
Fridays only. Day-time, evening, and weekend emergencies
are accommodated as needed.
Your initial appointment will be for 30 minutes.
The surgeon will review the clinical history, perform a
complete physical examination on your pet and review any
pertinent x-rays and labwork. Diagnostics and treatment
options will be discussed and a written estimate will be
given. If surgery is determined to be the best option, it
may be scheduled for that same day or for some later date.

Hospitalization
Hospitalization may be necessary for many
patients. If your pet must stay in the hospital, please
be assured that every effort will be made to make your pet
comfortable. We routinely use fleece pads, blankets, and
pillows to provide a comfortable surface for your pet. Dogs
are walked outside if they are able to walk, and cats are
provided a litter box. The hospital is staffed by the Veterinary
Emergency Clinic, Inc. (VEC) during evenings, weekends,
and holidays. Therefore, your pet will never be without
supervision and care.
Hospital visits and calls should be made
during the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. unless otherwise
discussed with our staff. Please do not contact the VEC
staff during the off-hours for information about your pet.
All communication must be done through the PVS doctors and
staff.
Our after hours answering service can be
reached by calling 412-366-3400. This is to be used for
emergencies only.
Fees
Fees for services are usual and customary
charges for the kinds of specialized services offered. You
will be provided with a written estimate prior to service.
A deposit is required
prior to major procedures. The balance must be paid at the
time your pet is discharged from the hospital. Payments
may be made with cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover,
or Care Credit.
